Company Overview
Montego Networks was founded by former NetScreen Technologies executives to address a critical need for network security for enterprises that are increasingly deploying virtual networks and virtual machine technologies.
Montego Network’s co-founders, Bob Darabant and John Peterson, both have long careers in the networking and security industries (Reflex Security, NetScreen Technologies, Fortinet, Cisco Systems, 3Com, USRobotics, Shiva, Blue Socket, Sprint, etc.).
While some security vendors are now touting security for virtual networks, their solutions do not provide policy enforcement between virtual machines. Solutions from Montego Networks uniquely provide:
- Comprehensive security from Virtual Machine to Virtual Machine
- Seamless integration with other types of security applications.
- Understanding of performance metrics (necessary to provide optimal performance of the virtual infrastructure).
Montego’s HyperSwitchTM delivers a superior security solution in that it is agnostic relative to the underlying virtualization software. Montego supports VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Virtual Iron and other leading virtual networks.
The Montego HyperSwitch is based on an 'industry-first' virtual security switch architecture that provides immediate policy-based security between Virtual Machines, and which utilizes a code base for optimal performance of security enforcement—with under-15 percent CPU utilization to operate.
The result and benefit for managers of enterprise networks is the incorporation of a Virtual Network-based security platform that is extensible, not only to its embedded security, but in which other 3rd-Party security options can be built in or added, as required.
The Montego HyperSwitch simply provides the best overall operational and extensibility options for Virtual Security.
