John Peterson - Co-Founder & Board of Director
John founded Montego Networks with 20 years of experience in leadership, technology and innovation and has experiences from leading technology innovators including US Robotics, 3Com, Cisco Systems, NetScreen, Fortinet and most recently Reflex Security.
Functioning as the Chief Product Officer at Reflex, John invented and architected the industry's first 10 gigabit Intrusion Prevention System called the MG5 and MG10. Prior to Reflex John held the role of VP of Products & Systems Engineering at Fortinet. John’s most notable endeavor there was in launching and growing the company’s position in the high end UTM market by increasing sales and product awareness of Fortinet’s blade based security architecture called the 5000 series. Prior to Fortinet John was the Director of Worldwide Systems Engineering at NetScreen, where he built and led a global technical sales organization. This included the scaling of NetScreen's Systems Engineering organization from 5 to 100 members and helped lead NetScreen to a successful IPO in 2001 and ultimately the company's 2004 sale to Juniper Networks for 4 billion dollars. John also served as a United States Marine and completed his studies in Aviation Electronics and Electronic Warfare.
Bob Darabant - Co-Founder & Board of Director
Bob Darabant, Co-Founder brings to Montego Networks over 23 years of sales management, partner and channel development experience from the technology industry including IT security, networking, and telecommunications. Bob was most recently Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Reflex Security where he grew the companies revenues from 1 million to 8 million in 12 months. Prior to Reflex Bob held the role of Worldwide Vice President of Sales and Support at Bluesocket and before Bluesocket was Vice President of North America Sales at NetScreen Technologies of Sunnyvale Calif., a $287 million vendor of high-end firewalls, VPN and traffic shaping technologies for carriers, large enterprises and Managed Service Providers acquired by Juniper Networks for $4B At NetScreen he led the North America team to explosive growth from under $2 million in 1999 to $143 million in 2003, contributing to over 50 percent of the overall revenue and positioning one of the only companies in 2001 for an IPO.
Bob spent four years as Vice President of Managed Services & OEM Sales for Shiva Corporation, negotiating OEM deals with companies such as IBM, Nortel, HP and Motorola. At Shiva he grew OEM revenues from $0 to $85 million in under three years. From 1988-1993, he was with Rockwell International out of Santa Barbara, Calif. He started his career at U.S. Sprint Communications.
